Josh Loves Football is a new book by author, teacher, and reading specialist Joanne Marziani.
Joanne wrote this book to appeal to reluctant and struggling readers, especially boys, who are frustrated with reading and have little desire to read.
The book is intended to be read by students in grades 1-4 who may be struggling and have a current reading level of first or second grade.
Before writing Josh Loves Football, Joanne interviewed some of her reluctant readers in grades 2-4 and found that 90% of them would choose to read a book about football.
My goal is to give struggling readers the desire to read and reread, to form a connection with the text, to have joyful reading experiences, and to develop a desire to read more often.
